Town of Telč

Evidence of the original medieval defensive system can be seen all over the town of Telč. It was formed by ponds, walls, moat and tower. In the past only two gates enabled people to get in the town. When the town was founded the square was about the same as far as its shape and size. In the mid 15th century arcades were added to each of the house in the square and the front gables were built according to a uniform plan.
